Beasts of the Southern Wild, Among other things.

So this week I watched Beasts of the Southern Wild.  This film was one that I had not realized the production company Court 13 was working on.  If you have seen Beasts of the Southern Wild you should check out Glory at Sea and Death to the Tinman by Court 13 as well both of which you can watch here: Court 13 Films.  It is hard to explain why I love these films so much.  But one thing I can easily say is that these films all have fantastic scores.  Even if you don't like the film you might like the soundtracks to these shorts they have a great unique sound.

Also Jurassic Park in 3D IMAX... need I say more?

Moving on from rambling about this film and such, I have been working on a short film one of my friends wrote for her senior project.  I helped produce and then I was Assistant Director on set.  I never would have thought I would say that working with Balloons was harder than working with kids.  Everyone says kids are hard to work with and I disagree I am not saying that all kids are easy to work with but I think that sometimes people d not really try to work with the kid and treat the kid like an adult only addressing them at a precise moment and ignoring them the rest of the time. Well if I were a kid I wouldn't wanna work like that either but it is hard to find the right place between authoritative and friend with kids on a shoot.  Luckily this weekend I found it and it worked out really well.  My friend who directed it is now moving on to edit it and I am very excited to see how this charming little film turns out.  On other news since this has not been updated in a while, I am working on my own senior project with my friend that is a mixed medium of live action and stop motion and I am really excited to see some of it come together.  The filming of live action is done for it but we still have a long way to go.

Alas I shall return to doing work but leave with a quote I stumbled upon today:
"Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind" -Dr. Seuss.
